Wildflowers Comic

For my final project in COMM 246: Digital Imaging for Design, I created a seventeen panel comic based on the text of an original poem.

The comic explores the experience of grief through nontraditional imagery, such as wildfires and warm, vibrant colors.

It is designed to be presented as an origami flower. Viewers are invited to unmake the flower, just as we are unmade by grief. The unfolded paper reflects the textural quality of a roadmap.

“Grief is a journey in unbecoming.
Open me up.

Love is a thing that blooms.
Put me back together again.”
